The Golden Tree

So, pretty much this tree in my backyard has been inspriring me for the past week. I just really liked the contrast between colors where every tree is green surrounding this one gold tree. For this drawing, I decided to use color pencils to capture the different textures. Although, sadly, the tree could be dead, because it has not turned green yet, but it is still considered beautiful Sorry for the inconvience of the picture quality, it wouldn’t let me rotate the picture

As I sat thinking about my loved one driving from Washington to Alaska, the Alaska Highway came to my mind. The 1,523 mil. highway that is usually known as the ALCAN highway starts from the Alaska-Canadian border and leads more into the state. I tried to sketch the highway or something along the lines of it and here’s what it turned into.

Ok, so the trees aren’t exact, but I didn’t know a good way to draw them instead of using squiggly lines everywhere. Wherever he is… I hope he’s ok. <3
